ICC Results: Manchester United shuts the door with third goal, wins 3-1

Two bitter rivals of the English Premier League, Liverpool and Manchester United, battled it out tonight for the the championship of the Guinness International Champions Cup. Although Liverpool had a first half 1-0 lead off the foot of Steven Gerrard, they could not hold on as Manchester United torched them in the second half.

You can call it the dagger, the end, or whatever you prefer, but Jesse Lingard’s goal in the 88th minute for Manchester United essentially guaranteed the team the championship of the Guinness International Champions Cup. It was the third goal of the half for Manchester United as Liverpool had absolutely no answer for United’s offensive attacks and schemes.

Lingard’s goal came off a short pass from Shinji Kagawa, and he sunk it in the back of the net with his right foot. It was a stellar goal to cap off a great performance from Manchester United.
