On Sunday night NBC aired their yearly, condensed replay of WrestleMania, and of course one of the matches that they showed back was the historic bout in which the Undertaker lost for the first time at the event to Brock Lesnar. It was a moment that shocked everyone, especially Stone Cold Steve Austin.
As we know, Austin was in attendance in New Orleans this past April, so he was one of the many on hand to watch the shocking moment play out live. And in an interview with 105.3 The Fan recently, he expressed his disbelief at the happening, just like so many others have already.
“Yeah, I was. I watched that match in the production truck with Kevin Dunn. I was sitting there drinking a beer, and they kept showing that guy in the front row; his eyes got real big and his jaw dropped. I did the same thing.
Hell, I couldn’t believe The Undertaker lost. I didn’t see any reason for it. I love The Undertaker and I love Brock Lesnar, but I love the streak, and I just thought it was so special, that it should never, ever be tarnished.”
It’s rare that we have seen anyone that was in favor of the decision, but ultimately that’s the direction they decided to go and there’s no changing it now.
