For quite some time there has been talk of unifying the mid-card belts in WWE as many feel there is not a need to have both a United States and Intercontinental champion in the company. Well that could be happening sooner rather than later, as there has been talk of making this come to fruition later this month at SummerSlam.
According to a report from WrestleZone, there has indeed been some whispers that we could see a unification at the annual summer event, which again would make a lot of people happy.
WZ has learned from sources inside WWE a title unification match with the Intercontinental and the United States Championship is being discussed for SummerSlam as of this past weekend.
As of now, the match would be a triple threat match with The Miz, Sheamus and Dolph Ziggler.
All in all, in the end this could be the right move. The question then would be who to put the belts on.
Of course there has been talk that Sheamus will be taking some time off, and we saw that with his absence from television last week. So then it comes down to the Miz and Dolph Ziggler. And as far as the internet community goes, well we all know who people would like to see come out on top there.
What do you think? Good or bad idea to unify the belts at SummerSlam? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
