Legendary Los Angeles Dodgers’ play-by-play man Vin Scully knows the important things in life. As he works on the final two months of another season on the mic and prepares to return for his 66th season in 2015, he knows which moments to focus on over the course of any given game.

“A star is born,” Scully said so eloquently in the midst of the team’s game against the Chicago Cubs on Sunday afternoon. So was he referring to a player on the field? A recent call-up, perhaps? Or was it simply a player who was already known and was having his first impact on a playoff race?

It was none of the above. It was a young fan, complete with foam finger and blue Dodgers’ afro, dancing his rear end off in the bleachers that caused Scully to take notice. “Stop everything,” Scully appropriately instructed. Baseball could wait, as long as this kid and his dance moves were on camera.

Observing young people at baseball games can offer any number of reminders in life. Enjoy some good junk food, be willing to laugh at one another, it’s never a bad time for a nap, it’s important to just love baseball, and perhaps most importantly, dance like you mean it.
