With the summer winding down here in the month of August, it’s time to get set for one of the more exciting sporting events of the year, the Little League World Series. Each and every year, some of the best young baseball players in the world gather in Williamsport, Pennsylvania to vie for the right to be called World Champions of Little League Baseball.

Before any of the United States teams can play for that right, however, they must first win their respective region. The United States side of the bracket is comprised of regional champions from across the country. To win that regional championship, there are various smaller tournaments held on neutral sites across the country, where the goal is to be able to earn the right to travel to Williamsport.

With that being said, here is a look at the Midwest Regional tournament that will play out over the next week.

Midwest Regional
Site: Indianapolis, Ind.
Dates: Aug. 1 – Aug. 8
Participants: Sioux City, Iowa, Frontenac, Kan., Plymouth/New Hope, Minn., Joplin, Miss., Kearney, Neb., and Rapid City, S.D.
