Los Angeles Dodgers rumors: Matt Kemp clears waivers, Hanley Ramirez does not
By Bryan Rose
Weeks before the July 31st non-waiver trade deadline passed, the Los Angeles Dodgers reportedly were ‘willing to kill’ to rid themselves of Matt Kemp.

Unhappy with his role and position in the outfield, the Dodgers had seemingly had enough with their disgruntled star and it didn’t seem as if Kemp was far behind, making his displeasure with the organization known. But a move back to right field seeming to rejuvenate Matt Kemp who has been on an offensive warpath in the weeks since.
Named the National League’s Player of the Week award winner, Kemp looks like the former MVP-like talent we were accustom to, though how long is it going to last? Is Kemp back for good? Or riding nothing more than a simple hot streak? That’s a decision the Los Angeles Dodgers may need to figure out in the coming days as according to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports, Matt Kemp has cleared waivers and that makes him available for trade. His teammate, shortstop Hanley Ramirez however, did not.
It seems hard to believe that the Los Angeles Dodgers would make a trade at this point considering how well Matt Kemp has played in recent weeks. Given their current pennant chase it would likely take an overwhelming offer and considering his albatross of a salary, it seems extremely unlikely that any team would be willing to give up significant value for Kemp.
Still, it wouldn’t be shocking to hear of a team or two expressing interest in Kemp considering he did clear waivers.
