Mark Hunt cut by UFC? 'Hell no,' says Dana White

Was Mark Hunt cut by the UFC?

In the early hours of the morning on Tuesday, the UFC heavyweight and UFC Fight Night 52 headliner decided to have some fun with mixed martial arts fans on social media saying that he was now unemployed.

That led to some speculation about whether or not Hunt was released by the UFC and his main event fight against Roy Nelson in Japan on Sept. 20 was called off.

Well, UFC boss Dana White, who has had to deal with his fair share of nonsense early on during his vacation thanks to light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier’s media day scuffle, had to deal with another situation and immediately squashed any speculation.

White responded to a fan by saying,

So, there you have it.

It looks like the UFC heavyweight was just having some fun with the fans that he entertains every time he steps into the cage.

The current UFC Fight Night 52 fight card can be seen below:

  • Mark Hunt vs. Roy Nelson
