Earlier today, Biogenesis founder Tony Bosch surrendered to the DEA and will allegedly plead to conspiracy to distribute anabolic steroids. But that was apparently just the tip of the ice berg.

More from MLB

When news of the surrender broke it wasn’t believed that any additional players from Major League Baseball would be named, however, that doesn’t appear to be the case.

According to T.J. Quinn of ESPN, at least two new players (possibly more) have been linked to the investigation and will likely be facing suspensions. As you’ll recall, a handful of current Major League Baseball players were suspended when initial documents of the Biogenesis scandal broke.

Quinn does not have any names nor what the violations were, so at this point it’s nothing more than speculation as to who is involved.

It’s yet another black eye for baseball as they seemingly just can’t get away from the performance enhancing drug scandals that have shaken the league over the past two decades.

In addition to MLB players it has been suggested that high school athletes were also receiving illegal products which is part of the reason for Bosch’s surrendering to the DEA.

Along with Bosch, at least ten other people were arrested in the ‘sting’. As of right now, there has been no comment from Major League Baseball and probably won’t be for some time or at least until the names of players involved in the scandal emerge.

The possible length of the Biogenesis related suspensions are likely to be similar (if not the same) to the previous suspensions unless the said player is to challenge like Ryan Braun who received a harsher penalty for such.
