According to NFL scribe Jason Cole, the Patriots already love Revis and are beginning to nudge him towards signing an extension with the team, as they see him as another Ty Law style cornerback.
"“The Patriots like what they see so much — they think they see the next Ty Law, that shutdown cover corner to really get their defense going. They’d like to extend him now,” Cole said. “Robert Kraft, the owner of the team, has pulled [Revis] aside and has started to talk to him to see if they can get a long-term deal worked out.”"
The Patriots probably do love Revis, as he’s one of the best cornerbacks int he game, but they also likely want to lock him down so he doesn’t Aqib Talib them and bolt for a monster offer in the offseason. So far Revis has been playing on one year contracts with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as there wasn’t a lot of guaranteed money there and the Patriots gave him a short term deal as well.
But that could all change as New England loves Revis Island now that they own it and want to run the resort for a very long time.
