In case you haven’t noticed throughout the summer, the New York Jets are really serious about that fact that they’re Super Bowl contenders. They’re so confident that they don’t even care if everyone knows the passcode to their iPad playbooks, which just so happens to be the last year they won it all: 1-9-6-9.

More from New York Jets

Yes, according to the New York Post, the Jets are letting it become public knowledge that the password to everything they hold so dear, their plays, is the year that they shocked the world back in Super Bowl 3 against the Baltimore Colts.

Defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson shed a little light on all of this.

“It’s just something to remember — 1969 is the last time this team was perfect,” defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson said. “That’s a long time ago.”

Well yeah, that would certainly classify as an easy passcode to remember, especially given the fact that, even to this day, the Jets’ win over the Colts is one of the more well-known Super Bowls in the history of the storied event.

But this is not a guarantee of a Super Bowl victory, rather it’s just a reminder for the players of what the ultimate goal of this season is, and that is to become champions.
