Brian Hoyer and Johnny Manziel

Manziel is a rookie, so he should be cut a little slack during his rookie season. Except, because he’s Johnny Football and seems like a little arrogant jerk, I will not be the one doing the cutting of the slack. HE DESERVES TO BE CRUSHED!

He might be good later on in his career, but I don’t see Manziel leading the Browns to the playoffs like Andrew Luck or Robert Griffin III did in their rookie seasons. His scrambling ability might create some plays down the field, but it also maximizes the time for Manziel to make a mistake or get destroyed by bigger, faster, and stronger players than he played against in college.

Manziel’s “suck potential” is off the charts. He meets all the criteria:

-Irrational confidence

-Legs are better than his arm

-Off-the-field, extracurricular activities (Ryan Leaf, anyone?)

-Too famous for his own good

Manziel isn’t even the starting quarterback yet. He still has to beat out Brian Hoyer for the starting job.

Honestly, if you just thought “Who?” when you read Hoyer’s name, I wouldn’t blame you. Before Manziel was on the Browns, I didn’t even know what Hoyer looked like. Apparently, he looks like a punter.

Hoyer is 3-1 in his four starts at quarterback in his five-year career. In those five years, Hoyer has thrown seven touchdowns and six interceptions. In five years. I’d say there’s a good chance we could see Hoyer in a couple 7-6 games, if he plays much for the Browns this season.
