Detroit Lions waive Jon Baldwin over failed physical
By Josh Hill
The career of wide receiver and former first-round draft pick Jon Baldwin appears to be nearly over as he’s now gone through the third team of his career in perhaps the quickest amount.

Baldwin was claimed by the Detroit Lions off of waivers following his release by the San Francisco 49ers, but he didn’t manage to last long in the Motor City at all.
According to NFL.com’s Kevin Patra, the Lions didn’t hang onto Baldwin long though, as they have waived him just a day after claiming him as he failed a physical with the team.
"The Detroit Lions claimed receiver Jon Baldwin off waivers on Monday, but he didn’t even make it to the practice field in Michigan. The Lions announced they waived the wideout due to a failed physical on Wednesday."
It’s unclear if Baldwin is going to latch on anywhere else now that he’s been cut by a second team in just as many days, but the bottom line is that Baldwin isn’t ready to play and that’s something that is right away unattractive to teams possibly trying to pick Baldwin up and see if he has anything left to offer.
