This one went down to the wire, with the Jets getting the game-winning field goal with just about a minute to go in the fourth quarter off the foot of Andrew Furney, whom the team signed this past June.
But obviously in this one, the eyes were going to be on the quarterback battle between Geno Smith and Michael Vick, and after one preseason game, you could say that Smith will retain his lead on the starting job.
In just playing two series, Smith finished 4-of-6 for 33 yards. But he did not turn the ball over once, which is what most will be looking at when it comes to his evaluation.
As for Vick, he finished the night 3-of-6 for just 17 yards.
One other story coming out of this one for the Jets was the rib injury that running back Chris Ivory suffered, which forced him out of the game and he did not return. Off of that, though, Chris Johnson scored his first touchdown as a Jet, punching one in from one yard out with about six minutes to go in the second quarter.
