It is a shocking turn of events for the preseason Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, who reportedly has been “separated” from TCU since being accused of hitting and threatening an ex-girlfriend with a gun. Fields missed most of the 2013 season with an injury, and started the season suspended for one game.
TCU head coach Gary Patterson called the situation disappointing, and it certainly is. Fields wasted a great opportunity at a great school.
