The Buffalo Bills have entered the veritable Powerpoint phase of their sales process. The Buffalo News reports that the team is currently hosting potential buyers for in-person presentations on their own bids. That they’re hosting bidders shouldn’t surprise anyone. That they’re reportedly hosting ‘as many as eight’ parties could surprise many who to this point were only aware of three major bidders.

More from Buffalo Bills

By now, we know the major cast of this long-standing drama, which includes Buffalo Sabres owner Terry Pegula, Bon Jovi and his so-called ‘Toronto group’, and billionaire Donald Trump. According to the News piece though, there are apparently more parties involved, despite only those having submitted a bid by the July 29th deadline.

"Only three candidates were confirmed to have submitted non-binding initial bids by the July 29 deadline. But that date turned out to be flexible, and nobody would say for sure whether any other off-the-radar applicants had stepped forward.A few more apparently emerged."

Donald Trump is the first bidder reported to have flown to Grosse Points Shore, MI, where Ralph Wilson Enterprises is based.

At this point, it’s unclear what this means for the three parties linked to this sale from the start. By infusing competition, Wilson’s trust is hoping to drive up the price, but it’s hard to believe the Bills could sell for more than half a billion above their estimated worth. Then again, that’s the power of the NFL brand. When billionaires are lining up to submit bids in public and in private, then there must be something to the investment.
