Cowboys’ Josh Brent met with Roger Goodell
By Mike Dyce
The Dallas Cowboys remain open to defensive tackle Josh Brent returning to the team after being absent from the league dealing with the repercussions of an alcohol related car accident that resulted in the death of his teammate and friend Jerry Brown.

Of course there still is the hurdle of his standing with the league. There were reports that Brent was going to meet with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on Thursday, and those meetings happened and were confirmed.
From the Dallas Morning News:
"Josh Brent, the former Cowboys defensive tackle who is seeking reinstatement to the NFL, met Thursday with league commissioner Roger Goodell in New York, a source said."
No information has come out about those meetings however, or which direction the NFL is leaning towards. The Cowboys wouldn’t comment on it either, and understandably.
“We are not able to comment on those private meetings that these players have with the commissioner,” Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said before Dallas’ preseason game against San Diego. “We’ll certainly learn more, I’m sure, over the coming hours, days, but we are not able to comment on that at this time.”
