Last season, Jordan Lynch was one of the most well-known names in the game of college football as the elusive, tough quarterback for the Northern Illinois Huskies. However, with his game not translating that well to the NFL, Lynch was not drafted. But he was picked up as a free agent by the Chicago Bears, who are looking to utilize his speed and power from the running back position.

More from Chicago Bears

Well if Lynch’s debut on Friday night against the Philadelphia Eagles was any indication, the position switch may just work for one of the hardest workers in the game of football.

Watch in the video below as Lynch not only picks up a first down for the Bears, but makes a poor defensive back pay for his tackling effort. Just like he never left the MAC.

That does look exactly like what he used to do to a lot of defenders during his record-breaking college career, and it’s plays like that that will end up securing a roster spot on this team.

Lynch may have fallen to the right organization. The Bears are traditionally a team that prides themselves on toughness, and Lynch most certainly brings enough of that to go around.

Prior to the draft when asked about a position switch, Lynch said that he would play wherever a team needed him to contribute and he would give 100 percent. He wasn’t lying.
