Jadeveon Clowney records huge tackle for loss in NFL debut with Texans (GIF)

Despite being one of the more destructive forces in the history of college football, there were a lot of people who questioned whether or not Jadeveon Clowney would translate well to the NFL. They questioned not only his work ethic, but whether or not he could play with the big boys. Well it didn’t take him long to make his presence felt in his NFL debut on Saturday night for the Houston Texans.
The Texans took the field on Saturday night for their preseason opener against the Cardinals, and well, Clowney basically did a Clowney-type thing, destroying the running back in the backfield.
So that right there should more or less shut a lot of people up.

Now while it’s only the first preseason game, there has to be a lot of optimism now coming from a lot of people in the Texans organization. Some even criticized them for going the way of Clowney in the draft, rather than going after a quarterback, a position they were in desperate need for.
But they saw Clowney as a defensive talent that you just absolutely could not pass on, and this play above, this early in his NFL debut, may prove them to be correct.
