The San Francisco 49ers and guard Alex Boone remain at a contractual stalemate. Boone believes he’s worth far more than the 49ers are offering and despite recently reaching out to the guard, Boone isn’t buying what the 49ers are selling.

More from NFL

Currently playing hardball, there are some that believe Boone could sit out into the season as he awaits a new contract. Given that, fellow NFL teams allegedly smell blood in the water and are reportedly interested in trading for the talented veteran.

Of course, it’s not known if the San Francisco 49ers would entertain the though of trading Alex Boone but if they do, there are apparently teams lined up to make such a deal.

Joe Looney, who has been filling in for Boone isn’t of the same talent level currently, though the San Francisco 49ers can’t continue to play games with Alex Boone as the season draws near. That could result in a potential deal, especially given how tough-nosed the San Francisco 49ers front office is. They certainly don’t look like they’re going to be the first to blink in this situation and Boone looks to have his heels dug in deep.

It seems as if a trade may end up being the only resolution, though at this time that’s simply speculation.

The good news for the 49ers is that there are multiple suitors so they can certainly attempt to create a bidding war for the offensive lineman.

Currently the interested teams are not known nor are their offers, assuming any have been made.
