There is some very startling speculation coming from the NASCAR world on Saturday night as multiple reports are stating that NASCAR driver Tony Stewart part of an investigation involving fellow driver Kevin Ward at a dirt track in New York.

Now the developments of all of this have been sketchy, and scary at the same time.

First, there were reports from some spectators that were at the track that Stewart had actually struck Ward with his car during a caution.

Now these were just spectator reports, however not long after that, the Charlotte Observer twitter account tweeted out a link to Jim Utter’s Lucky Dog racing blog, which gave a little bit more detail about what’s going on.

"The Ontario County (N.Y.) Sheriff’s Department is investigating an incident at Canandaigua (N.Y.) Motorsports Park involving NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Tony Stewart which occurred on Saturday evening.   At approximately 11:30 p.m. ET, a spokesman for the department said it had no comment at this time but said a news release would be prepared and available in “two to three hours.”   Posts on the social media sites Facebook and Twitter, including photographs, indicate Stewart was involved in an on-track incident with driver Kevin Ward, which left Ward on the track receiving treatment for what were described as serious injuries."

That’s all the information that is available at this time, however we will keep you updated as more comes out.
