CM Punk, with his contract being expired with WWE, is now officially gone from the company. Still, with this being said, there are many that have been wondering whether or not his likeness would be used in the upcoming WWE 2K15 video game, since they have every legal right to.

Well we have an answer to that here on this Monday morning, and yes, Punk has been confirmed for the upcoming edition of the game, as he will be a part of the story mode.

Basically, the story mode focuses on famous rivalries from the past. and in the case of the Second City Saint, they will be focusing on the rivalry that he had with John Cena, which was one of the better ones of this generation, in reality.

More from WWE

WWE executive director explained a little more about Punk being in the game, despite not being with the company anymore.

“Each year we try and create the best WWE 2K roster possible and even though CM Punk is not currently appearing on WWE programming we’re really happy that we’re able to still provide for everybody this rivalry against John Cena and CM Punk as part of 2K15,” Little said. “As much in the same way that Shawn [Michaels] currently isn’t active for the WWE either, but he’s still able to be part of WWE 2K15 because the WWE universe extends through all of the time and history of the company. One of the great things about being able to do the 2K Showcase and look backwards at some of these previous rivalries is to be able to share with the WWE universe all the people that might not be on current programming.”

Punk just can’t get away from WWE, even by walking out hours before a TV taping.
