ESL to hold Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare bootcamp at Gamescom

What’s the best way to really show off what Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is all about? How about letting some top pro gaming teams put the upcoming game through its paces?

That’s what the ESL is doing, in partnership with Activision and Sledgehammer Games. In its first ever Pro Bootcamp at Gamescom this week, the ESL has invited 12 professional Call of Duty teams to show off one of the new features of Advanced Warfare each day from August 13-17 in a series of showcase matches in Hall 6, B40 at the Cologne Exhibition Centre. The matches will be open to the public for people attending Gamescom in person, and will also be streamed live on Twitch.

“This Pro Bootcamp gives us a chance to show the potential of the new title to really incorporate the audience’s desires,” David Hiltscher, Vice President Gaming Communities at ESL, said in a press release. “We’re super excited to see how the Pros handle playing on the new title and what sort of interesting plays they can make. This event is hopefully just the first of many Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare events to come.”

The invited teams represent eight different regions, including the U.S. Here’s the full list:
