Birdman: Michael Keaton loses his mind in new trailer (Video)

Michael Keaton is one of the best actors in Hollywood. It takes a special kind of film to make him look stark raving crazy, but the upcoming film Birdman does just that.

The best part is, we think we may just love it.

In just a little over two months, the film will open in theaters nationwide.

Thankfully, Keaton fans will not have to wait that long to get a glimpse of what they can expect from the upcoming film.

In the trailer, which you can see below, Michael Keaton stars as a washed up actor by the name of Riggan Thompson. Years ago he played the title role in the superhero series Birdman; however, the years have not been kind to him and he has allowed himself to fall so far.

Now, he has decided that he is going to write, direct, produce, and star in a brand new Broadway play in order to prove to everyone that he isn’t quite done yet.

Unfortunately, he is plagued by a myriad of personal problems that continually get in the way of his accomplishing his goal. One of which is seemingly the loss of his fragile sanity.

Why don’t you take a look for yourselves? Here is a look at the latest trailer for the upcoming film Birdman.

Birdman is being directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu. Prior to Birdman, Iñárritu has directed films like Babel and 21 Grams.

The screenplay for the film was penned by Iñárritu along with rookie screenwriters Nicolás Giacobone, Alexander Dinelaris, and Armando Bo. Giacobone and Dinelaris both worked together with Iñárritu on a film named Biutiful.

The film stars Michael Keaton as Riggan Thomson. Birdman also stars Emma Stone, Edward Norton, Naomi Watts, Zach Galifianakis, Amy Ryan, Merritt Wever, Andrea Riseborough, and many more.

Birdman is scheduled to be released on October 17, 2014.
