Odell Beckham Jr. has been hindered by a hamstring injury in training camp and failed to make a big splash so far with his play on the field, but the New York Giants first round pick made headlines with his words.

More from New York Giants

The former LSU Tiger and the No. 12 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft looks at the offensive talent on the Giants and isn’t shy about making a bold proclamation that they have the makings of one of the best offenses in the NFL.

"“It has potential to be, if not the best, one of the best in the league if you have a receiving corps like we do and a great quarterback along with the backfield and the tight ends and much improvement from the offensive line,” Beckham said, via Jordan Raanan of NJ.com.  “I don’t see anything but being one of the best in the league this year.”"

Strong words from Beckham who was drafted for his ability to make plays in the slot and on the perimeter as a wide receiver and for his versatility as a game-breaking return man, but he and Victor Cruz have serious strides to make the remainder of the preseason to head into the regular season with any sort of momentum.

Eli Manning is coming off his worst season as a professional after leading the league in interceptions and the offensive line and tight ends needing to continue to improve, Beckham’s proclamation may be more of a dream than a reality.

One area that will help the Giants offense this year is that Rashad Jennings looks terrific thus far in the Giants new uptempo offense after signing with the team in the offseason after a strong year with the Oakland Raiders.

Beckham should have goals like this, it will give him and his teammates something to strive for, but will he have a hard time living up to this prediction?
