The most popular amusement park simulation game is making a return as Atari has announced that RollerCoaster Tycoon World will be making its way to PC in the near future.
Being developed by Pipeworks, RollerCoaster Tycoon World will put players in control of their very own amusement park. With rides, shops, a variety of customers, everything will once again be in the power of the player’s hands when it comes to making their theme park a success.
Players will have to achieve various goals to assure that they have the best park possible, but there is also a new twist coming to the classic franchise.
RollerCoaster Tycoon World will feature, for the first time, cooperative multiplayer that allows up to four players to manage and build up one giant theme park.
“Many of the new features in RollerCoaster Tycoon World were not possible a few years ago, but we have taken advantage of technological improvements to offer a wildly fun gaming experience that stays true to the storied franchise,” Atari CEO Fred Chesnais stated in a press release.
Players will be able to visit other players’ parks, and custom roller coaster designs can be shared online with the world as well.
Atari also confirmed in the release that the new RollerCoaster Tycoon will be free from all microtransactions, giving players full access to the game’s content right from launch.
RollerCoaster Tycoon World is slated for an early 2015 release.
