The Walking Dead has turned more than a few of its actors into stars, but no one on the show seems to be as popular as Daryl, played by Norman Reedus. But what Reedus has done is truly branch out into other mediums thanks to his success as he’s been in films, has The Walking Dead going for him on television and will soon be adding video games to his resume.
According to Variety, the actor will be starring in the upcoming Silent Hill video game, which will be borrowing not only his voice but his likeness and motion capture acting as well.
“The Walking Dead’s” Norman Reedus will star as a key character in the next installment of Konami’s horror video game franchise “Silent Hill.”
Guillermo del Toro is developing the game with “Metal Gear Solid” creator Kideo Kojima.
The new installment was announced by Sony on Tuesday at the Gamescom conference in Cologne, Germany.
This is significant for more than one reason, as it proves that video games are becoming more and more of a generally accepted medium for story telling. We’ve already seen stars like Kevin Spacey head to the realm of video games and now Reedus is joining the likes of Ellen Page as actors who have starred in video games as though their films.
It’s a cool idea and it’s clearly something that is starting to catch on more and more as video games continue to get more impressive in every way.
