The Florida Gators have had some struggles on the recruiting trail with several players decommitting over the last few months (of course, it’s only a subpar class so far by Florida standards).

After a 4-8 season, that isn’t much of a surprise and if the Gators show improvement on the field in 2014, they will pull in a big time class like they almost always do. Lately, they’ve gone into Georgia to get commitments and on Wednesday, they earned their third straight pledge from a Georgia athlete when 3-Star offensive guard Brandon Sandifer committed to the Gators.

The 6’4, 335-pounder is from Warner Robbins, Georgia and attends Northside High School. He visited the Gators in late July and was extremely impressed.

“That trip really sold me on Florida,” Sandifer said via Gator Sports. “I just had a great vibe with the coaches and players, and I feel like they need me there.”

Sandifer announced his commitment via twitter.

Sandifer is ranked as the country’s 32nd-best offensive guard prospect, the 45th-best overall prospect in the state of Georgia and the 508th-best overall prospect in the class of 2015 according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings. Sandifer chose the Gators over his other two finalists, the Alabama Crimson Tide and South Carolina Gamecocks.

The Gators now have 11 verbal commitments in the class of 2015, headlined by 4-Star athlete Jerome Baker. Their class now ranks 24th in the country and ninth in the SEC.
