According to ESPN, Chelsea is the team to beat this year in the EPL. With manager Jose Mourinho back, and new signings Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas fitting well into the system, it seems that the London club is poised to take back the premier league this year.

ESPN makes a fair point by naming Chelsea the team to beat. This year the club is stronger than ever. The off-season moves have helped recreat the team that won the Champions League in 2012.

Mourinho brought in Deigo Costa, whose strength and speed mirrors that of a young Didier Drogba. Cesc Fabregas’ passing and ball control looks a lot like Frank Lampard’s in his prime. Filipe Luis brings the speed and skill of Ashley Cole, and Eden Hazard is a younger Juan Mata with a better shot. Petr Chech is still solid but getting up there in years, hence the decision to bring back Thibaut Courtois from Athletico.

Every piece is there for Chelsea to regain the dominance it had a few years ago. Plus, the emergence of young talents Andre Shurrle, Oscar, and Willian give the club more options. Fans should be excited for a special year at Stamford Bridge.
