It was bound to happen. Just three days before the entire roster is set to be revealed during a special fan panel in Los Angeles, the first look at gameplay in WWE 2k15 has been leaked.

The gameplay is recorded off screen at Gamescom 2014 in Cologne, Germany, and was uploaded to YouTube by NexplayDE. Fans get a look at the entrance for Randy Orton — sans music — as well as a bit of how matches flow in the first WWE video game to make the jump to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The match features Orton vs. Cesaro, and can be seen below.

As you can see, the game looks just as good as the screenshots that have been released show. The wrestlers keep their high-quality look throughout the match thanks to the processing power available in the next gen systems.

The ring size looks realistic in comparison to the size of the superstars, and it no longer looks like an arcade-style game. WWE 2k15 appears to be the true wrestling sim that fans have been waiting on for quite some time.

One thing that the video shows is the new chain wrestling mechanics. When wrestlers go into the collar and elbow tieup in WWE 2k15, the players are prompted to make a decision regarding what to do next. This then leads into another prompt to explain how to pull off various moves.

One thing that fans may be nervous about is the weird start and stop animations that the wrestlers still have. Rather than selling the effects of a move, the wrestlers appear to sell a move for a short amount of time before looking fine within seconds. It could just be something that needs to be find tuned, but it may become an annoyance.

Also, it looks like the ability to spam the same moves is still available as the player controlling Orton seemed to only want to do the same attacks over and over again.

A cool aspect of the game that is shown is the ability to attack while a wrestler is getting up from the map. At one point in the video, Cesaro is trying to get to his feet after an uppercut. While getting to his knees, Orton then clubs Cesaro on the back, which he sells perfectly. It’s something small, but will no doubt be a nice little addition to the realism of the game.
