Tim Howard was picked Chelsea to win the EPL this year on ESPNFC. Howard has agreed to be a broadcaster with NBC Sports when he’s not playing for Everton. He said that Chelsea will likely win with the new signings and that Man United likely won’t compete for it this year.
“You never bet against Mourinho. He’s a seasoned campaigner and he knows how to navigate the Premier League and win multiple titles. They’re fierce at home, they rarely lose at home under Mourinho, if ever. They’re just a strong, solid team. They were strong last year but Mourinho downplayed their title chances and they’ve only gotten stronger.”
Howard held less praise for Manchester United, saying that losing most of the back four will make things tough this season:
“They’ve had too much turnover to win a title. They’ve brought in a lot of players and when foreign players come into the Premier League it’s very, very difficult for them their first season. So there’s been too much turnover there. That’s a building process and for me, no, they might challenge for the title but they certainly won’t win it.”

Unfortunately for soccer fans this may be Howard’s last season with Everton at 34 years old.
The goalkeeper was an inspirational figure to the USMNT this summer, with a record breaking performance against Belgium in the Round of 16.
