There seem to be plenty of conflicting Cleveland Browns rumors when it comes to the quarterback competition between Brian Hoyer and rookie Johnny Manziel. Some say that Manziel is the favorite to win the job, others say it is Hoyer and then even more people say it is an even race.
So, what exactly is the deal when it comes to the Browns starting quarterback job?
According to Benjamin Allbright, the starting job is Hoyer’s to lose and it “isn’t particularly close.”
Well, so much for what those Browns beat writers seem to be saying.
Its funny b/c I always get the opposite word these #browns beat writers do. Im told job is Hoyer’s and it isnt particularly close.

The Browns seem to have favored Hoyer all along and Manziel has really done nothing to separate himself as a must-start guy, so it would be surprising to see the Browns ditch their plan of rolling with the more experienced signal-caller when the season opens.
On Monday night, the Browns will roll Hoyer out as their starter in the second preseason game before naming their regular season starter on Thursday.
