Lil Wayne has had a busy day on ESPN as he hangs out on SportsCenter. He finally announced a release date for his new album Tha Carter V, which will come in late October.
From Miss Info:
A night after his “Drake vs. Lil’ Wayne” co-headlining tour stopped in Hartford, Connecticut, Lil’ Wayne made his way to ESPN headquarters in Bristol, Connecticut to appear on Sportscenter and First Take. Speaking with Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith on First Take, Weezy revealed the fifth installment of Tha Carter V will arrive on October 28.
He also revealed the cover art for the album. Tha Carter series has always been a relatively simple cover, with Wayne on it. The first two albums featured an adult Wayne before switching to a younger version of himself for Tha Carter III and Tha Carter IV.
This one also features a young Wayne, this time holding his mother’s arm. It also marks first time that someone other than Wayne has appeared on the series’ album cover.
What do you think of the cover? Let us know in the comments below and if you’re looking forward to the upcoming album when it is released.
