Though Gamescom 2014 is in full swing, Sony has plans to announce brand new games coming to the PlayStation 4 during its press conference at the Tokyo Game Show later this year.
In an interview with Famitsu, Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida revealed some of his company’s plans for the four-day convention in September.
“But to be honest, in selecting the games we wanted to introduce, we realized it wasn’t possible to fit everything into the frame of the conference, so unfortunately there were some games we couldn’t introduce this time,” Yoshida told the publication in reference to the company’s Gamescom 2014 media briefing.
Yoshida also revealed that the game announcements that weren’t brought up at Gamescom will be included in the company’s keynote at Tokyo Game Show. The focus of most of the game announcements will be on titles coming to the PS4 as Sony continues to push its newest gaming hardware.
Some of the games expected will likely come from Japanese developers as Sony looks to grow the fan base of the PS4 in the company’s own host country.
Tokyo Game Show takes place at the Makuhari Messe Convention Centre in Chiba, Japan from September 18-21. FanSided will have full coverage of the event next month.
