The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge has been the viral social media trend of the summer. The premise, if you’re challenged, is to either dump a bucket of ice water over your head or to donate $100 to ALS research, ideally both.
The whole point is to raise awareness of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, and hopefully some money in the process. Donations have reportedly been up, which means it is working.
Some have gotten creative with their approach to the ice bucket challenge, Los Angeles Kings winger Marian Gaborik is one of them. He is in an ice rink in shorts and a t-shirt, and lays down on the ice for his version.
Which while insane is not necessarily the craziest part of it. He then has a zamboni dump snow on him instead. It isn’t exactly the same thing, but we’ll allow it because it was creative, and also just as cold if not colder. It was also a lot more snow than you’d fit in a bucket, basically burying him.
