Twitch has continued to grow increasingly popular on gaming systems, as gamers around the globe continue to show off their skills while streaming their leave in-game exploits.

With the app now residing on both Xbox and PlayStation consoles, usage is easier than ever.  Yesterday, however, official accounts were compromised for both companies, and the results weren’t great.

The PlayStation, Xbox, and eSports League Twitch accounts were hacked into by another party on Thursday, and the damage was notable.  Offensive messages as well as fake game announcements, and jokes about Gamescom 2014 were plastered all over each of the official pages.

While some of the messages made fun of Sony and Microsoft, one in particular was directed at Tomb Raider being a timed exclusive.  It read, “Sorry guys but they rose the money bags.”

On top of poking fun at Tomb Raider, the other posts broke false news noting upcoming Fallout and Gears of War games.  The comments weren’t all gaming related however, with a handful of descriptions including racist tones, homophobic slurs, and offensive language.

Twitch thinks that the user accessed the accounts live at Gamescom from a computer that was signed into each of the three accounts.  Twitch worked to quickly take down the incorrect and offensive information, as well as taking down most of the content on each of the channels for the time being.

While this isn’t a good look for any of the three companies, the fact of the matter is that sometimes you can’t prevent someone from being immature.  Twitch handled the situation swiftly and quickly, which had to be nice for each of the three brands involved.
