When the Philadelphia Eagles selected former Stanford Cardinal tight end Zach Ertz with the 35th-overall pick in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft, they expected big things.

More from New England Patriots

Ertz had a solid rookie season – he made 36 receptions for 469 yards and four touchdowns – but both he and the Eagles are looking for more. That’s why he’s one of the Eagles to watch the preseason. At 6’5 and 250 lbs., he could become a matchup nightmare. He’s a good athlete so he can beat some linebackers with his speed and his size could help make him a nightmare for opposing cornerbacks and safeties.

During the Eagles’ game against the New England Patriots, Ertz was looking to impress and he did just that in the second quarter. Ertz bullied current Patriots and former Eagles’ safety Patrick Chung for a six-yard touchdowns on a good find from quarterback Nick Foles. You can watch that play below.

The Eagles got off to a very good start after cornerback Cary Williams returned a Tom Brady interception 77 yards for a touchdown. The Patriots, however, answered by scoring touchdowns on their next three drives. Brady threw a touchdown while rookie Jimmy Garoppolo threw two. Ertz’s touchdown cut the lead to 21-14.
