Chargers at Seahawks final score: Russell Wilson, Seattle dominates San Diego 41-14

We might only be in the second week of preseason action, but the Seattle Seahawks already appear to be in midseason form. Seattle obliterated the San Diego Chargers 41-14 on Friday at CenturyLink Field.

Wilson gave the Seahawks a near perfect performance. He appeared in four drives: three ended in touchdowns and the other a field goal. Wilson scored two rushing touchdowns, the second of which put Seattle up 24-0 with 4:05 left in the second quarter. Wilson finished the evening with 121 yards on 11-13 passing and 31 yards on the ground.
But it wasn’t just Wilson that had a standout performance for Seattle. The Seahawks received contributions from just about everybody, as their starters out gained the Chargers’ starters 255-42. Running back Robert Turbin added 81 yards and a touchdown on just 12 carries and wide receiver Percy Harvin did a nice job in the passing game, catching four of his five targets for 31 yards.
For the Chargers, starting quarterback Phillip Rivers played just one drive (2-4 passing for 20 yards), so Kellen Clemens was relied on to be the team’s primary signal caller. Clemens held his own, throwing for for 149 yards and two touchdowns on 14-19 passing, but could never really get San Diego back in the game after the Seahawks dominated early.
Clemens’ second touchdown pass with 1:49 left in the third quarter cut the deficit to 27-14, but Seattle would score on its very next drive via a by Terrelle Pryor 44-year run.
The former Ohio State quarterback threw for 10 yards on 1-4 passing and added 59 yards on the ground in the contest.
The Seahawks would push the game to 41-14 with 4:06 left in the fourth quarter after a six-yard touchdown rush by B.J Daniels (six carries, nine yards).
Seattle finished the game with 243 yards on the ground compared to just 78 for the Chargers. Danny Woodhead led the way for San Diego on the ground, posting 24 yards on six carries.
The Seahawks will take the field next at homes versus the Chicago Bears next Friday. The Chargers will take on the San Francisco 49ers on the road in their third preseason bout next Sunday.
