College football is less than two weeks away.

Step back and consider that reality.

With that out of the way, the upcoming 2014 season has already presented a great deal in terms of storylines, and with some Grade-A talent returning to school, there are a handful of players with national recognition before playing a single snap this season. From the returning Heisman Trophy winner to high-end NFL prospects who spurned millions for one more shot, each and every major conference presents headliners on a national stage, and in this space, we will be predicting the “Player of the Year” in each of them.

The races will likely be close (and we’ve given you some “honorable mentions” for their trouble), but here are the presumptive winners.
