Oden is in trouble for allegedly beating his ex-girlfriend during an argument and now that the law has gotten involved in the matter, a trial is pending to decide what happens to Oden now. According to KGW.com, a trial date of October 26th has been set for Oden.
KGW.com in Portland provides some details and background on just why Oden is going to court.
"Police believe Oden hit his ex-girlfriend during an argument. Court documents stated that the victim needed three stitches between her eyebrows and her nasal bone was also fractured. When she was at the hospital, the woman told the staff she hurt herself in a fall, but Oden admitted to hitting her, according to the court documents."
This comes at a time when the Ray Rice case is still fresh in the minds of everyone. The two cases may not seem similar, but they are as both involve a woman being beaten — the only difference is it’s likely that Oden’s trail and punishment from his employers is a lost harsher that what Rice received from the lenient NFL.
