Amazingly enough, this big hit on Scott Simonson that resulted in Simonson’s helmet being removed from his head was NOT flagged by the officials.

More from Detroit Lions

It seems remarkable that a Detroit Lions player could get away with going that high on a guy and knocking his helmet off. Don’t Lions get flagged for pretty much everything?

For whatever reason, the refs decided to let this one slide. The NFL’s emphasis on player safety did not apply in this particular instance. On this particular play, the ref was like “Whatever. Who’s this Simonson anyway?”

Nobody cares about some Raiders scrub named Simonson. Meanwhile, if anyone even looks at Tom Brady crooked, FLAG.

Simonsons don’t deserve the same protections as Bradys. You can blow up Simonsons all day if you want, but Bradys, forget it.

I’ve seen guys get flagged for stuff they did to Brady the day before when they just ran into him at a restaurant. You didn’t hold the door for Brady when he walked in. FLAG.

Simonson, go ahead. Blow his entire cranium to crap, leaving him quivering on the field like a lump of jelly. No flag.
