Chicago Bears Rumors: Will Santonio Holmes flourish or fail?

The Chicago Bears officially signed former New York Jets receiver Santonio Holmes on Saturday and the question has now become will the often troubled receiver get it together and help the Bears the way they’re expecting him to?

Holmes isn’t troubled in the traditional sense, he just has had a slew of injury and motivational issues that have caused him to fall off from where he once was in his career.
According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, Holmes has been available since August due to his attitude issues and his foot problems, but the Bears may have gotten a steal if the receiver has been humbled into not being such a knucklehead on and off the field.
"If Holmes is healthy, he could flourish in Marc Trestman’s offense. Holmes hasn’t worked with a franchise quarterback since Roethlisberger, and Holmes will never see double coverage, not with Marshall and Jeffery on the field.It’s fair to wonder about his attitude. But if he hasn’t been humbled by the events of the last two year, he never will be."
e Bears needed another receiver in their corps, but Holmes will need to work to earn his receptions. Cutler has Alshon Jeffery, Brandon Marshall and Maretllus Bennett to throw to, but Chicago needs a third receiver and it’s looking like Holmes has a chance to earn that role and redeem himself with the Bears.
