Just a few weeks before the NFL season is set to open up, one of the more promising teams in the NFL has suffered a major setback, as Arizona Cardinals defensive tackle Darnell Dockett has suffered a torn ACL and he will miss the 2014 NFL season.

Dockett suffered the injury in practice on Monday and had to be carted off the field. Upon leaving the field, Dockett underwent an MRI that revealed the tear.

This is no doubt a huge blow to a team that had some big playoff hopes heading into this season. Had they not played in the same division as the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers last season, they would have been in the playoffs with their 10-6 record. This season, they were expected by some to build off of that even more.

But now, without one of their best players on the defensive side of the ball, that is going to be that much more difficult.

Last season in that 10-6 run for the Cardinals, Dockett recorded 33 tackles with 3.5 sacks.
