Kenyon Martin Rumors: Injuries scaring teams away from offers
By Josh Hill
Kenyon Martin has had a long NBA career but it’s one that has fallen victim to injuries and poor longevity. Martin hasn’t yet signed an NBA contract this summer and it’s looking like he might have to go play overseas again if one doesn’t come along.

The reason for Martin’s struggles to find a deal has less to do with his game on the court — which is actually still pretty high level considering others in his age bracket — but rather his inability to stay on it.
According to Sports Illustrated’s Rod Mahoney, the one thing that is keeping a deal off the table for most teams when it comes to Kenyon Martin is his inability to stay on the court and in the lineup.
"If Martin’s presence could be guaranteed, he’d likely have a roster spot by now. But injury issues are a fair and understandable deterrent to his signing with an NBA team."
Injuries have ravaged careers in the past and it seems Martin is no exception to this. He’s not a bad option, in fact he’s one of the better veterans out there. But teams need reliable and healthy players and Martin is neither of those things, which is clearly hurting his value and appeal to interested parties.
