Nebraska DT Aaron Curry to transfer to Oklahoma
By Phil Watson
Here’s something that wouldn’t have happened in the old Big 8 Conference days.
Junior defensive tackle Aaron Curry is reportedly leaving the Nebraska Cornhuskers to transfer to their one-time archrival Oklahoma Sooners.
According to HuskerOnline.com, Curry is expected to receive his release as soon as Monday.
The transfer report was confirmed by Carey Murdock of SoonerScoop.com, via Twitter:
Curry played in every game for Nebraska last season, earning a starting spot for the Big Ten Conference season and making eight starts. He had 26 tackles, three tackles for loss and two sacks.

But he’s been bumped down the depth chart this summer by sophomores Vincent Valentine and Maliek Collins and he has tied at Oklahoma—his father Aaron Curry Sr. played basketball for the Sooners from 1978-80. A fifth-round pick of the New Jersey Nets in 1980, the elder Curry never played in the NBA.
Curry’s best individual performance came in Nebraska’s 41-28 loss to Michigan State on Nov. 16, when he had five total tackles.
He had two tackles in Nebraska’s 24-19 win over Georgia in the Gator Bowl on Jan. 1.
Curry played as a true freshman in 2012 and made three tackles in four games before missing the rest of the season with an injury.
Because Curry played as a true freshman, he can sit out this season as a redshirt at Oklahoma and have two years of eligibility remaining with the Sooners.
