Cowboys DT Henry Melton wants to ‘knock some of the rust off’ in preseason
By Mike Dyce
The Dallas Cowboys brought in Chicago Bears defensive lineman Henry Melton to help restructure the united after the departure of defensive tackle Jason Hatcher. Melton suffered a torn ACL in the third week of the 2013 season, and has yet to play in any game action since.

Melton isn’t necessarily in any doubt for the season opener a week into September, but he has yet to play in the preseason. If Melton could have his way, he’d play in the preseason.
“I would like to but I’m not going to push it to where I can have any setbacks or something,’’ Melton said, via the Dallas Morning News. It’s pretty much just what they want me to do.
“I’d like to go out there for a preseason game even if it’s just a couple of plays or a series or something, just knock some of the rust off for a regular game.”
Regardless, Melton says he’ll be on the field for the opener.
“The season opener is definitely, yeah, it’s there,” Melton said.
“I haven’t had any setbacks with the knee. It’s been just the groin. Feeling that out, feeling the knee out, the groin is just a little tweak.
“I have been feeling great. The knee has been feeling awesome.’
