Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel flipped the middle finger seen around the world on Monday Night Football, during his team’s loss to the Washington Redskins.
Manziel received plenty of criticism for his immature actions and for allowing the Redskins to get under his skin, but his lack of composure on the field could also come with a bit of a financial penalty.
From Darren Rovell of ESPN.com:
Manziel’s choice of finger will make him subject to a $11,025 fine, which could be reduced on appeal to $6,200, according to @AdamSchefter

Manziel’s middle finger didn’t sit well with Browns head coach Mike Pettine, which is never a positive sign whenever you are fighting to become a starting quarterback.
The rookie signal-caller is fighting with Brian Hoyer for the No. 1 job, but last night’s performance from both sides seems to leave more questions than answers.
Cleveland had initially planned to name a starting quarterback by the time the third preseason game came along, so we will have to see whether or not that is still the appropriate timetable for a decision or if the competition will drag out until Week 4.
