Each and every year the Notre Dame Fighting Irish football program has broken out Shamrock Series uniforms for a specific game throughout the year. That game this season will be against the Purdue Boilermakers on September 13, and on Tuesday the school and Under Armour unveiled what they will be wearing in the video below.
All in all, these actually aren’t that bad. Under Armour is well on their way to being on the same track as their main rival, Nike, when it comes to uniform modifications. However, this was their first real test, seeing as Notre Dame fans generally don’t like to see their traditional threads messed with too much. And it looks as if they passed.
In the past, there were a lot of people angry with Adidas and the modifications that they made to the Notre Dame uniforms for the Shamrock Series. Under Armour, from what can be seen on the internet so far, has made a lot of folks from South Bend happy.
Nonetheless, no matter how they look on the field, the Irish have a tough go ahead of them this season, given the recent academic incident that came to light that resulted in the dismissal of four key players from the program.
