When Brock Lesnar manhandled John Cena to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam on Sunday night, there were some fans who were wondering whether or not the championship victory would lead to him making appearances on a full-time basis.
Unfortunately for those who were hoping that would be the case, Lesnar is not expected to return to the ring in the immediate future.
Instead, he will take a few weeks off.
While John Cena will be returning to the ring at WWE Raw next week in Anaheim, California, Lesnar is not scheduled to return until Sept. 15, according to wrestlezone.com.
The Sept. 15 appearance will be the final episode of Monday Night Raw before the next pay-per-view, Night of Champions.
Lesnar is not currently scheduled to appear at Night of Champions, which the WWE is trying to build up as a WrestleMania-like event, but plans could be changing now that he is officially the new champion.
Lesnar received his brand new belt on Monday night, but we will have to wait to see when exactly it will be on the line and who the opponent will be.
