Of course, this doesn’t have anything to do with the recent ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, now does it? Of course it does!
Filming is already well underway for the upcoming Batman-inspired series; however, a good number of the cast members took time out of their busy schedules to participate in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.
At the same time, they used the opportunity to call out some of their fellow series on Fox.
Representing the cast of Gotham is Erin Richards, David Mazouz, Camren Bicondova, Robin Lord Taylor, Sean Pertwee, Victoria Cartagena, and Anthony Stewart Jones.
Take a look for yourselves. Here is a look at the cast of Gotham as they participate in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.
In the spirit of paying it forward, they have now nominated the cast of The Following, the cast of Sleepy Hollow, and their fellow cast members Ben McKenzie, Donal Logue, and Zabryna Guevara.
Let’s not forget about the entire reason the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge exists.
For those of you who do now know what ALS truly is, it is a debilitating disease more commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. The actual name for the disease is Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and is “a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord.”
The motor neurons in the body eventually begin to die off which leads to a complete loss of muscle control and eventually death. It is a horrible disease and not something that you would ever want to watch a friend or family member go through.
That is why this challenge is so important, because it brings awareness to a sometimes forgotten disease and has helped incredibly in raising money to continue researching a cure for the crippling disease.
