Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell and LeGarrette Blount have found themselves in trouble with the law just one day before their most important preseason game. Both men were arrested for marijuana possession on Wednesday night.

The news was first passed along on Twitter by Colin Dunlap of CBS Pittsburgh.

According to multiple media reports, the two running backs were arrested with 20 grams of marijuana in the back of the car. They were arrested in Ross Township.

They were cooperative during the arrest.

Le’Veon Bell was also charged with a DUI.

Charges will reportedly be filed through the mail and they are both misdemeanors.

The laws for possession of under 30 grams of marijuana in Pennsylvania are as follows:

"For amounts up to 30 grams, penalties include a fine of up to $500, up to 30 days in jail, or both."

Bell, the team’s starting running back, was a second-round pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2013 NFL Draft.

Blount, meanwhile, signed a two-year deal with the Steelers on March 28. Blount is set to earn $950,000 guaranteed this season and he had the opportunity to establish himself as the team’s short-yardage and goal line back.

Both men were booked and later released.

The Steelers take on the cross-state rival Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday night at Lincoln Financial Field.

There is no word on whether or not the Steelers will be punishing the players for their arrest or if they we will be joining the team for tomorrow night’s game. The good news, however, is that it is a first offense for both players, so they are unlikely to face league discipline.

We will update you with more information as it becomes available.

UPDATE: The Steelers have released a brief statement on the incident: “We’re gathering information regarding reports on Bell, Blount and have no further comment.”
